1. Trump Transition Team Reviews 'Pro-Crypto Persona' Paul Atkins for Next SEC Chairman
With Gary Gensler, chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC), announcing his intention to resign as chairman on January 20 next year, it has been revealed that Trump is considering Paul Atkins as the next SEC chairman. Bloomberg reported on Nov. 28 that President Trump's transition team held a meeting with Paul Atkins, who has previous experience as an SEC member, and conducted an interview on the appointment of the next SEC chairman. Paul Atkins currently runs a financial consulting firm and has repeatedly pointed out Gensler's absurdity in SEC operations before the U.S. Congress.
2. Vancouver Mayor Announces Bitcoin Sale Plan by City Budget
Vancouver Mayor announced that part of the city's budget will be invested in Bitcoin(BTC) as part of diversifying the use of urban financial resources. Vancouver Mayor Shim Ken submitted a notice at a meeting of the Vancouver City Council on Nov. 27 that included plans to add Bitcoin to the city's financial statements.
3. Ethereum Futures Open Interest Hits Record High
According to data from the on-chain analysis platform CoinGlass, Ethereum(ETH) open interest in the futures market surged and reached an all-time high of about $22 billion on Nov. 27.
4. Stablecoin Cap Hits Record High
According to data from the on-chain analysis platform CC Data, the market capitalization of global stablecoins reached an all-time high of $190 billion on Nov. 27. The market capitalization of stablecoins has risen by about 9.94% since October, exceeding the $188.0 billion recorded in April 2022.
