3. U.S. SEC Approves Spot Issuance and Redemption of Cryptocurrency ETP
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC) announced in an official statement on Jul. 29 that it will allow the issuance and repayment of Bitcoin and Ethereum(ETH) exchange-traded products(ETP). SEC Chairman Paul Atkins explained that the launch of a cheaper and more efficient cryptocurrency ETP has decided to allow the issuance and repayment of cryptocurrency ETP in kind to improve the efficiency of the market.
