1. Bloomberg "Trump to Sign Executive Order to Punish Banks Discriminating Against Cryptocurrency"
Bloomberg reported in a source's testimony on Aug. 7 that U.S. President Donald Trump will issue an executive order on Aug. 8 to impose fines and penalties on banks that have terminated cryptocurrency corporate accounts. Bloomberg's report comes as banking associations are trying to block four cryptocurrency companies from applying for bank accounts.

2. Ripple-SEC Closes Lawsuit with Dismissal of Appeal
The lawsuit between Ripple and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC) ended with the dismissal of both sides' appeals. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit announced on Aug. 7 that it admitted the joint dismissal of the cross-appeal filed by Ripple and the SEC. On Aug. 8, Stewart Alderotti, Ripple's general counsel, left a comment on his X account, saying, "Now I'm back to business."

3. Ripple Announces Acquisition Of Stablecoin Payment Platform 'Rail'
Ripple announced on Aug. 7 that it will acquire "Rail," a stable payment platform, with the aim of expanding its own stablecoin RLUSD. Ripple said Rail's acquisition will conclude in the fourth quarter of this year.

4. U.K. Energy Corp Announces Plans To Mining Bitcoin With Surplus Gas
British energy company Jack Oil announced on Aug. 8 that it will start mining Bitcoin(BTC) with surplus gas. Jack Oil explained that natural gas produced at the Western Newton plant will be converted into electricity and used for Bitcoin mining.
