1. XRP Soars 8%...Whale Accumulation Record High
The price of XRP reached a record high of $2.68 on Jan. 15 amid sharp buying. On-chain analysis platform Santiment announced that the number of whale wallets with 1 to 10 million XRPs reached an all-time high of 2,054 this week.

2. Next U.S. Treasury Secretary to Invest $500K In Spot ETF Of BlackRock Bitcoin
Scott Bessent, who was appointed the Trump administration's next Treasury secretary, revealed that he invested about $250,000 to $500,000 in BlackRock's Bitcoin(BTC) Spot Exchange Traded Fund(ETF) 'IBIT' in his property report submitted on Jan. 14 ahead of the confirmation hearing.

3. Italy's Biggest Bank Invests $1 Million In Bitcoin
It has been revealed that Italy's largest bank, Intesa Sanpaolo, invested about $1 million and bought about 11 Bitcoin. According to Intesa Sanpaolo's internal email, which was released through a number of foreign media on the Jan. 14, Intesa Sanpaolo shared the purchase of Bitcoin on Jan. 13.

4. UK Central Bank Announces CBDC Sandbox Experiment
The Bank of England will begin experimenting with the use of the CBDC digital pound. The Bank of England announced on Jan. 14 that it will launch the Digital Pound Lab, a digital pound experimental organization, soon after publishing its progress report on the digital pound. According to the announcement, the Digital Pound Lab will work together with public and private sectors in the UK to design the digital pound ▲potential use cases ▲business model ▲technology.

5. Gary Gensler "Bitcoin Could Become Gold-Like Asset In Future"
Gary Gensler, chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC), gave a positive outlook on Bitcoin's future in an interview with CNBC on Jan. 14. Gensler, chairman of the SEC, said, "As an asset, it has characteristics similar to gold," adding, "It could be a differentiated asset in the future." He is scheduled to resign as chairman on the 20th, when Trump will take office.

6. Sony Launches Blockchain 'Sonyum'
Sony announced in an official statement on Jan. 14 that it has launched the mainnet of the Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain Sonyum. Sonyum was built on the "OP Stack," a blockchain development framework developed by the Optimism Foundation. "Our vision for Sonyum is to build an open Internet where creativity flows freely and fairly and empower next-generation users to embrace Web 3.0," said Sonny Block Solution Labs Director Watanabe Sota.

7. Gensler to Make Final Strike Against Ripple Before Resigning
SEC Chairman Gary Gensler is expected to submit an opening letter to Ripple's lawsuit this weekend. Stuart Alderoti, Ripple's general manager, explained on his X account on Jan. 15 that he had requested the SEC to delay submitting documents to Ripple's appeal, but was rejected.
